Men Acne Treatment

Men Acne Treatment

CASE STUDY

Skin Concern: Mild acne on both cheeks, rough skin texture, post-inflammatory pigmentation

Client Profile: Male, 30s, white skin

Our Approach:

The first step is a consultation. We gathered as much information as possible about our client’s skincare routine and products, lifestyle, nutrition and medications. This information helped us identify potential acne triggers and devise an optimal treatment plan.

As the client’s acne was very mild, a course of 4 personalised chemical peels was recommended. The strength and composition of each peel were carefully chosen to suit the client’s skin and minimise any downtime.

For anyone suffering from acne scars and post-inflammatory pigmentation, microneedling has been very effective in smoothing out skin and improving skin texture.

Skincare products:

We recommended using retinol, BHA and SPF to further improve results and minimise the recurrence of acne. Retinol increases cell turnover and helps reduce the visibility of capillaries because it builds surface collagen in the dermis.

BHA (salicylic acid) is a must product if you have acne and oily/combination skin. It unclogs pores and dries out excess oil (please note BHAs are most suitable for combination to oily skin).

Anyone who wants to avoid premature ageing, pigmentation and skin cancer, should always wear SPF. Post inflammatory pigmentation is very common after acne, and any unprotected exposure to the sun will darken any marks left by blemishes.
